1. If you are not yet a member of the TVCA email list, please email Tierra Verde Community Association and request that your email address be added. This will be the primary way news will be distributed on this issue of vital importance to all.
2. Your Association is asking you to give your support, such as attending meetings, sending emails, and volunteering your time if possible. Since repetitive emails are a very effective method of getting the attention of elected officials, please send out personal emails voicing your opposition to the annexation of any part of Tierra Verde to Mayor Rick Baker and the St. Petersburg City Council. To proceed, select the following text with your mouse, right click, then select copy. Click on the 'St. Petersburg City Government' email link below. When the message form pops up, place your cursor in the text part of the message and select paste. You may need to 'adjust' the formatting. The following is suggested text (which you may edit) for your message:
Many of us watched as you conducted your council meeting on November 21st. The discussion and vote on Ordinance 867-G, the partial annexation of Tierra Verde.
WHAT A SHAM!
Congratulations and THANK YOU to councilmen Danner and Polson for doing the right thing. Voting WITH the people, and against protracted litigation. As for the rest of you, shame on you! You have done a disservice not only to the residents of Tierra Verde, but your own city as well. You knew, before you voted, your decision would be challenged, thus making the last minute development agreements touted by the Mayor, WORTHLESS!
We believed the City Council had ONE more chance to DO THE RIGHT THING!
YOU FAILED! THERE WILL BE A PRICE.
