Fire/EMS

Station Captain: John Guiles

The Tierra Verde Fire Department, an extension of the Lealman Special Fire Control District, is proud to serve the community, residents, and businesses of Tierra Verde. The Department has a minimum of four personnel on duty twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, who are committed to the protection of life/safety of all residents, as well as fire suppression and fire prevention of all structures and property.

Housed within the station are an engine, a rescue, and a Kubota vehicle normally used during special events and details.  All units are Advance Life Support (ALS) and are manned with Pinellas County and State certified firefighter/paramedics.

Fire Prevention Week – October 7-13 is a time to reflect on the bravery of our local firefighters who risk, and sometimes sacrifice, their lives to save others.  It is also a time to insure you and your family have an emergency plan and know the steps to take if confronted by a fire or any other emergency.

The Great Chicago Fire was a conflagration that burned in the American city of Chicago on October 8-10, 1871. The fire killed approximately 300 people, destroyed roughly 3.3 square miles of the city, and left more than 100,000 residents homeless. Because of this horrific past, more stringent fire prevention codes were established and enforced around the globe. This is why we now recognize “Fire Prevention Week” in the month of October.
